2012 Earnings: Third Quarter

Even though the company reported a net loss of $59 million in its third quarter, Facebook's stock price soared yesterday by around 20 percent to $23.63, becoming the single biggest day in their stock's history. Facebook's principle revenue source (at 14 percent) comes from showing ads on mobile devices. This is interesting as Facebook still lack in their mobile experience for Facebook users. Facebook still trail Google in online advertising. Facebook are also counting on Facebook Gifts as possibly driving more commerce through Facebook, and of course further opportunity to drive more revenue for Facebook. Original source.
